I've had many interests and hobbies throughout my life. If you are interested, here are some of them.
Science Fiction: I've been captivated by science fiction ever since I stumbled upon Star Trek reruns in the early 1970s.
Running: I embarked on my running journey at twelve, running with my Dad, and it has remained a significant part of my life ever since.
Evolution: Thanks to an exceptional high school biology teacher, I gained a solid understanding of evolution, shaping my comprehension of the natural world and human nature.
Exercise Physiology: My passion for running sparked an interest in exercise physiology, leading me to pursue a degree in Exercise Science.
Martial Arts: I developed an interest in martial arts during my time in the Army. When I have the chance, I'll share the highlights of my journey.
Computer Programming: I started using an early IBM PC in college and became fascinated by learning how to write computer code. Eventually, I earned a degree in Computer Science.
Human Movement and Biomechanics: Running intensified my curiosity about human movement, and under the guidance of Dr. Nicholas Romanov, I acquired a deep understanding of human movement.
Kettlebell Training: As an extension of my interest in human movement, I discovered kettlebell training, which has become my preferred form of weight and resistance training.
Human Nature and Evolutionary Psychology: Evolutionary psychology primarily influences my perspective on human nature. This captivating field has greatly enhanced my understanding of relationship dynamics and related areas such as socio-biology.
Bushcraft: Inspired by my father's expertise in wilderness skills, I realized the need to master bushcraft basics later in life. I even had the opportunity to work with renowned bushcraft instructor Paul Kirtley during a trip to England.
Plant Identification: As part of my bushcraft training, I undertook an online course with Paul Kirtley on identifying and utilizing plants for various purposes, such as food, medicine, cordage, and fire.
Primitive Skills: Building upon my passion for bushcraft, I find immense satisfaction in mastering primitive skills such as starting a fire with a hand or bow drill.
Nature Photography: Immersed in the wonders of nature, I naturally developed an interest in capturing its beauty through the lens of my camera.
Men's Sexual Health and Sexology: Necessitated by personal health challenges and the systemic issues in the US healthcare system, I embarked on an in-depth exploration of men's sexual health. Through my health journey, I began working with Dr. Rachael Ross, M.D., Ph.D., and enrolled in the Dr. Rachael Institute. I now have the privilege of assisting men with their sexual health concerns.
Taoism and Taoist Health Practices: Through my studies with Master Loren Johnson, facilitated by Dr. Rachael Ross, I have been training and working in Chi Gong and Meditation. I am certified as a Chi Gong and Meditation Instructor under Mantak Chia and aspire to pursue further certifications.
Video Production: I am currently honing my skills in video production, editing, and lighting techniques, primarily for social media purposes.
Social Media Engagement: Parallel to my video production endeavors, I am actively learning to use social media platforms to promote my business effectively.
AI: The sheer power of AI has recently captivated me, leaving me both in awe and apprehension. I dedicate considerable time to learning how to harness and utilize its potential.
Mindfulness: These include meditation and gratitude practices.
Environmental Conservation: I am passionate about protecting the environment, sustainable living, and learning about conservation efforts to preserve natural resources and biodiversity.
Philosophy: Exploring different philosophical concepts and pondering existential questions about life, ethics, and the nature of reality.
History: I’ve always been especially interested in Ancient and American History. As an Afro-American Studies minor in college, I became very interested in how history usually reflects our biases and how it is used for propaganda.
Personal Development: Engaging in personal growth and self-improvement activities, such as goal setting, time management, and building positive habits.
